BEFORE
Complete Brewster Piano Rebuild – What We Did
This 1913 Brewster upright needed a top-to-bottom restoration to bring it back to life. The refinishing process included carefully restoring the Quarter-sawn Oak cabinet and applying a replica decal to maintain its historic character. We also re-plated all metal hardware, including the pedals, to match the piano’s original elegance.
Internally, about 80% of the restoration work focused on the piano’s mechanics. The bridges were severely cracked, causing tuning instability and major sound issues. We rebuilt the bridges, replaced all the strings, and restored the action, which included new hammers, dampers, and bushings. The result? A piano that not only looks amazing but sounds incredible too.
These 56-58” uprights are known for their big, warm tone, and this one is no exception. The rebuilt action ensures a smooth, even touch, making it a joy to play.
AFTER
We couldn’t be happier to see this beautifully rebuilt Brewster piano heading home to its family in Texas! After decades of wear, it’s now fully restored and ready for another century of music, memories, and generations of playing.
