"Brigham Larson Pianos is the best piano store in the state! I bought a Hailun grand piano and have loved playing it everyday. It still sounds as good as the day I bought it 5 or 6 years ago. I get it tuned by them every 6 months and I recently had them move it to my new home. They are always extremely professional and the service is top notch. I would highly recommend them!" — Dan West

"We recently moved to UT and were blown away to find a piano craftsman on par with any East Coast or European tuning and restoration company— who also sells or tunes reasonably priced, family-friendly models. We saw first hand in the shop that spinets received the same care from the team as the Steinways. We experienced nothing but respect from the entire team, no sales pressure, and amazing education. Brigham was patient and made our kids feel special. Our piano tuner in SL county referred us here and are very thankful." —Dawn Wessman

"Brigham is an outstanding piano technician who also plays himself. Brigham's enthusiasm for pianos and expertise when it comes to understanding the technical aspects of these sophisticated instruments makes him an incredibly unique piano dealer. When you talk to Brigham about the pianos he sells, or other brands he services expect an honest candor that manifests remarkable humility. If you visit Brigham's piano sales floor, you won't have an instrument sales experience, you'll have a music education experience." —Sterling G Keyes
Piano Restoration & Service FAQs
What makes Brigham Larson Pianos different from other piano shops?
What sets Brigham Larson Pianos apart is our technician-first approach. Brigham Larson Pianos is owned and operated by Registered Piano Technician Brigham Larson, who is passionate about all things piano and welcomes even the most challenging rebuilding projects.
Whether you are purchasing a new piano or restoring a cherished family heirloom, Brigham Larson Pianos serves as your trusted, full-service piano shop.
With decades of experience and over 20,000 pianos serviced, we focus on structural integrity, precision action regulation, and long-term performance.
Every piano that enters the shop is evaluated from a structural and mechanical standpoint — including plate integrity, soundboard condition, bridge health, pinblock stability, and full action geometry.
Every piano for sale in the showroom is fully refurbished and carefully regulated to meet our standards for touch, tone, and stability.
Each family heirloom restoration is grounded in craftsmanship, detailed evaluation, and what will serve both the instrument and the family best for decades to come.
If you are seeking expert piano restoration, professional piano tuning, or carefully prepared new and used grand and upright pianos in Utah Valley, Salt Lake County, or anywhere nationwide, contact Brigham Larson Pianos today.
What piano brands do you sell?
At our piano shop, we offer both new and professionally refurbished grand and upright pianos. Our inventory typically includes respected brands such as Hailun, Yamaha, Steinway & Sons, Hallet Davis, Kawai, Petrof, Mason & Hamlin, and Baldwin.
For families looking for a new piano, we specialize in Hailun, which I’ve personally vetted, prepped, and serviced for many years. From a technician’s standpoint, they offer exceptional stability, touch, and long-term durability.
For those interested in pre-owned pianos, we carry carefully selected and refurbished pianos from brands like Yamaha, Kawai, Baldwin, Petrof, and Mason & Hamlin — each evaluated and prepped in our shop to ensure proper regulation, tone, and structural integrity.
Our inventory rotates regularly, so the best way to see what’s currently available is to view current inventory online or visit the showroom in Utah Valley.
Can I rent a piano?
Yes — absolutely! We’re happy to offer both month-to-month and event piano rentals.
Renting is a wonderful option for families who want a quality acoustic piano in their home without committing to a full purchase right away. Every rental piano that leaves our shop has been carefully inspected, regulated, and tuned by our technicians. We don’t send out “rental-grade” instruments — we send out real pianos that feel and sound great.
We also offer a Rent-to-Own program, which is a fantastic way to start with a piano now and apply your payments toward owning it. It gives you flexibility while building toward a long-term investment in your home. Please contact us for additional details about the Rent-to-Own program.
In addition, we provide event rentals for recitals, weddings, corporate events, performances, and special occasions. If you need a quality grand or upright piano delivered and properly set up for an event, we can help coordinate the details to make sure everything goes smoothly.
Do you offer piano sales outside of Utah?
Yes. We provide nationwide piano sales and restoration services. Whether you are purchasing a new piano or restoring a family heirloom piano, we work with families across the United States.
Many pianos come to us from around the country when families are remodeling their homes or preparing for a move. We’re happy to safely store your piano and simultaneously restore it, so when you’re ready for it to come home, it’s beautifully rebuilt, fully prepped, and ready to be enjoyed for decades to come.
What makes an heirloom piano worth restoring instead of replacing?
In my experience, pianos worth fully restoring are the ones that carry sentimental value—something you just can’t replace with a new instrument.
A lot of heirloom pianos were built during the Golden Age of piano manufacturing, and if the original design, soundboard, and bridges are solid, they can absolutely be brought back to life.
We keep the core of the instrument intact and reset the clock with new mechanical components. If it’s been in your family for generations, there’s usually a good reason to restore it instead of starting over.
How often should a piano be tuned?
We recommend tuning every 6 to 12 months—especially if it’s a new piano, played regularly, or in a space with fluctuating climate.
Skipping tunings can lead to pitch instability or more costly work later. Book your piano tuning now and keep your piano in peak condition.
