What Does Music Mean to You?
Part of the job of being a musician is putting time and focus into learning about music and how to play instruments. Our students sacrifice a lot of free time to practice the piano and progress quickly. But why is it so important to learn an instrument? One of our theory lab teachers, Mr. Rubow, did some research on what motivated the masters and now motivates our students to work hard and become great!
Jase Perkins: “I enjoy music because it is a great way to express yourself and there are so many different ways to play.”
Johann Sebastian Bach: “The aim and final end of all music should be none other than the glory of God and the refreshment of the soul.
Tiffany Orocio: “I like that it sounds pretty and that it can be used to feel good.”
Ludwig von Beethoven: “Music is the one incorporeal entrance into the higher world of knowledge which comprehends mankind but which mankind cannot comprehend.”
Audrey Pestana: “I like music because it helps you calm down and it can make you feel happy and emotional.”
Thomas S. Monson: “Music can help you draw closer to your Heavenly Father. It can be used to educate, edify inspire, and unite.”
Sarah Riboldi: “I like to play the piano and listen to music because when I do, I feel peace.”
