Brigham is an expert piano technician and loves working on these tall, old, upright pianos. This 1909 Steger & Co. rebuilt upright piano is a great instrument and has beautiful cabinetry. It has been completely rebuilt including restringing, new tuning pins, and new hammers. The key tops on this piano have been replaced with new key tops and key bushings. If this process isn’t done right, the keys won’t be aligned properly, so Brigham and his team were very careful to get the keys just right. The parts of the action that Brigham replaced will help to ensure that this rebuilt piano has many more years of great use. After all the work done to the “guts” of the piano, it has a very rich sound with a deep bass, which is likely just how it sounded when it was a new piano over a hundred years ago. The original pedals have been replaced to look brand new. The ornate cabinetry on this rebuilt upright piano was refinished and everything buffed, making it a beautiful piano inside and out.
