New Key Top Preparation

When preparing a piano for new key tops, or for polishing up the existing keys, the old keys are first removed from the piano and then placed on a special board to hold them in place. If the ivories or sharps are being kept, they are masked off to protect them. The keysticks are then soda blasted to remove the decades of dust and dirt that’s built up over the decades. This leaves us with fresh and clean looking keysticks ready for the next step. “Tango Jalousie” music provided by the 1910 Steinway Pianola Player Piano available in our showroom.
