Music Education- A Step in the Right Direction

Great news this week as the United States Senate has passed a bill called “Every Child Achieves Act.” This means that music and art will become core subjects! This is to provide the opportunity for students of all socioeconomic backgrounds to get the chance to benefit from a creative outlet.

“Music energizes and elevates, it makes schools better, and it creates better employees and citizens, later on in life. We look forward to working with Congress to get a good bill across the finish line,” said Michael Butera, NAfME Executive Director and CEO. NAfME or the National Association of Music Education has been a huge part of what has made this bill successful. They have sent of 14,000 letters to Capitol Hill emphasizing the need for an art education. Here’s to a step in the right direction!
