Cracked Soundboard?

We had another piano with a cracked soundboard come into the shop. Many times this doesn’t cause any problems, but with this piano, the soundboard had started separating from the ribs. This can cause a buzzing sound when the piano is played. To repair this, glue is put into the gap, and screws are added to clamp the two pieces back together. This keeps the separation from getting worse and stops any buzzing sounds.
