Thank you for 200 Google Reviews!

Thank you for 200 Google Reviews!

We are so overwhelmingly grateful for all the supportive Google reviews that have been given about Brigham Larson Pianos! These reviews mean so much to our business. Because of your positive words, recommendations, and ratings, you have helped us reach out to so many new piano families we never would have had the chance to be acquainted with. It has been a pleasure sharing our love of pianos with everyone who walks through our doors, and we are so grateful to know that there have been so many positive experiences here. Special thanks to all who have left their honest reviews on Google, and to Marjorie for leaving the 200th review. Here are some of our favorite comments: Marjorie Mann “Great service and very informative on the work being done.”   Elizabeth Dance “I loved my experience here. I wasn’t sold to, but informed about different kinds of pianos. I listed things I wanted in a piano and they found one to fit my need and budget. They know so much about how each piano sounds and were able to pair me with the one I have now. I loved it.”   Camille Larsen “I was desperate for my piano to be tuned and you answered my call! Thanks so much! This big antique upright grande is really humming now – THANKS”   Brad Smith Great experience. Awesome pianos. They truly love pianos at this store, which is refreshing (since other piano places remind me of used car sales).   Camille Garrison “Fantastic. Everyone should buy their pianos from Brigham. Their staff is incredible; Stacey is so friendly and helpful. A technician Joe came out and played on several pianos I was deciding between and was sooo helpful. They are all talented and know pianos like the back of their hand. So impressed and so excited about our first piano!!”   Tyrel Hanby The whole purchasing experience was very relaxed. I never felt pressured to purchase a piano, nor was there ever an attempt to try and get me to buy anything outside of the budget that I gave them. I was shown several options that were around the price range I was looking for and left to decide at my own pace. Delivery was great and the men who moved the piano into the house were very professional. There were no problems with the piano and it plays great. I definitely recommend going to Brigham Larson to get a piano. They are my choice for any type of piano repairs and tuning.   Share this:Share on Facebook (Opens in new window)Click to share on LinkedIn (Opens in new window)Click to print (Opens in new window)Click to email this to a friend (Opens in new window)Click to share on Google+ (Opens in new window)Click to share on Pinterest (Opens in new window)Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window)Like this:Like...

Keep Tradition Alive, Rebuild your Heirloom Piano

Keep Tradition Alive, Rebuild your Heirloom Piano

Brigham Larson Pianos specializes in rebuilding heirloom pianos. We are often asked to restore a piano for two main reasons: One, because it has been passed down through a family for generations, or two, a person desires the unique esthetic of an older piano that is hard to find in the modern era. There are three main paths we take when rebuilding a piano: rebuild, refurbish, and a la carte. A rebuild is essentially a wholesale replacement of all major components. It also comes with a thorough cleaning so it looks brand new. The next path is a refurbish. For a refurbish, some parts are replaced or rebuilt, but not all parts as with a rebuild. However it still includes a thorough cleaning and is an excellent option that will restore a piano to great working condition. The third path is a la carte, for which not all pianos may qualify. This path is budget driven, where the piano owner with Brigham can pick and choose the components of the piano to be worked on. If you would like to see this restoration work in action, stop by our piano shop anytime. We love to give tours! If you are interested in this type of work for your own piano, call us today at 801-701-0113. Brigham oversees all rebuilds personally and will make sure your piano gets the best care possible. Restoring Grandpa’s Childhood Piano, Part 2

Phase two of restoration is now complete on this 1913 Hallet Davis upright piano. Phase two includes cleaning, action work, and new keys. (If you haven’t seen Part 1, find it HERE.) The keybed has been freshly cleaned and new keys have been put in. The original ivories have been saved for the family. The strings have been scrubbed and scoured to remove any rust and corrosion. The metal pieces have been hand polished to look new. The action has been thoroughly soda blasted and cleaned. The hammer butts have been taken off and re-pinned. The hammers have been cut off and holes have been bored to accept the new hammers that will be put in. New bridal straps have been installed and the dampers have been removed in preparation for new ones. This piano is well on its way to being a fully restored, practically brand new instrument! Restoring Grandpa’s childhood piano, part 1

Restoring Grandpa’s childhood piano, part 1

This 1913 Hallet Davis upright piano was brought in by a customer to be rebuilt. It belonged to their grandfather, who played it during his childhood and into his teens. Later in life the grandfather became a piano technician and kept this piano in good shape. However, 100+ years can take a toll on any piano, and it was brought to Brigham in order to be restored to its prime. In this video we show the current condition of this piano and the kind of work we will be doing for the refurbish. Brigham opens up the top and bottom sections of the piano and explains his process in detail. Watch out for the mummified spider, puzzle pieces, and a century’s worth of dust! (Don’t worry, all of that is completely normal.) This Hallet Davis is a gorgeous piano and we are so excited to start working on it. Stay tuned for a future progress report!
